In 1974 I opened my eyes to the world in Konya. From a young age, like every young ,chasing my ideals and I graduated the Çukurova Faculty of Medicine in 1997. When I completed my specialization in internal medicine at Inonu University Faculty of Medicine, the idea of specialization in the field of hematology really motivated me. I deserved those titles respectively , 2006 specialist in hematology, associate professor in 2011 and professor in 2016.. Especially in terms of Bone Marrow Transplant, I follow the current developments in the medical world, I continue to work with pleasure to apply the most appropriate treatment for my patients. My current responsibilities include TÖTM Bone Marrow Transplant Directorate, Tissue Typing Laboratory and Blood Bank Responsibility.

Apart from these cancer diseases, all kinds of bleeding and clotting disorders, anemia and bone marrow laziness are monitored and treated by our department. Today, chemotherapy is the main treatment option for the treatment of Leukemia, Lymphoma, MDS and Myeloproliferative diseases. However, a significant proportion of these patients require bone marrow transplantation (curative treatment) in order to completely remove the disease from the body. Each of these transfers has its own success and risks.The age, disease, and the presence of appropriate marrow play a role in the selection of these transplants by hematologists. In our center, the treatment and follow-up of these patients are evaluated separately, and if there is a need for a transfer, the type of transplantation to be carried out is decided by the bone marrow transplantation council within the Ministry of Health ministry legislation. Inonu University Faculty of Medicine Turgut Ozal Medical Center Bone Marrow Transplant Center completed its in-house structuring and obtained a license from the Ministry of Health in 2010 and started bone marrow transplantation. In our bone marrow transplantation center, autologous, allogeneic, haploidentic and non-relative bone marrow transplantation is performed successfully. A total of 67 bone marrow transplants were performed in 2014 including 2 haploidentic, 27 allogenic, and 38 autologous. In 2015, non-relative bone marrow transplantation was started in our center . Two non-relative transplantation was carried out in June 2015.
A marrow transplantation was performed in this center by bringing the appropriate marrow from Germany to the other one from the USA. In 2015, a total of 67 patients underwent stem cell transplantation.In 2016, a total of 74 patients underwent stem cell transplantation.Of these, 25 were allogenic, 45 were autologous, 5 were non-relative, and one was haploidentic transplantation. In 2017, a total of 99 patients were transferred. A total of 500 patients have received bone marrow transplantation until now. The mortality rates associated with bone marrow transplantation are in line with American and European standards. In our center team members are Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali ERKURT, Prof.Dr. İrfan KUKU, Prof.Dr. Emin KAYA and 3 faculty members. There are also 1 specialist doctor, therapeutic apheresis technician, bone marrow transplant coordinator, 9 nurses and 2 additional staff are working in our center.
There are currently 12 hospital beds in our center.With the Oncology Hospital to be completed in 1 year, the number of bone marrow transplant beds will increase to 24.Our hospital has enough equipment and personnel to perform all kinds of bone marrow transplantation.In this year, health tourism will be provided to bone marrow transplant patients from neighboring countries.Inonu University Turgut Ozal Medical Center, Adult bone marrow transplant center in the field of bone marrow transplantation is one of the leading centers in the field of health tourism in Turkey and will continue to be ambitious.
